Language and Creativity
01/10/2009

There is a huge problem with language - at least the English language (and I suspect most others). The word 'creativity' has come to mean artistic creativity. So schools claim they are teaching creativity when they are teaching music, dancing, etc. There is no separate word for 'thinking creativity' so this never gets attention and never gets developed. Indeed, I am told, the European Year of Creativity 2009 started out looking at artistic creativity. I am now the EU Ambassador for Thinking for this year.
