Assumption on thinking
01/12/2009

'Thinking' is a totally neglected area. This may be because it was always assumed (for 24 centuries) that philosophers were looking after thinking. This is not so. As a result thinking has been neglected. Philosophers have been concerned with analysis and the analysis of language. This is very different from operational tools for thinking. The perceptual tools of the CoRT programme are very powerful. The exploratory tools of parallel thinking (Six Hats) reduce meeting times dramatically and save millions od dollars (literally). The creative tools of Lateral Thinking turn creativity into a deliberate process. All these are very different from philosophical analysis. It takes time for people to realise this.
