Workers and strikes
06/03/2006

When workers in essential industries or sectors go on strike it causes great hardship on everyone else.
The last underground rail (tube) strikes in London were an example – and before that the transport strike in New York.

Perhaps workers in sectors deemed to be essential would pay less income tax. If such workers went on strike then this privilege would be lost for a defined length of time. Wage levels and other causes for dissatisfaction, could be settled by a ‘dispute board’.
